Mike Smith has ambitious growth strategy, with more acqusitions likely
Ink Underwriting is to rebrand and launch a new proposition in the broker market.
The managing general agency, which was acquired by Giles in 2007, is creating three separate areas to focus on underwriting, wholesale and schemes business. Panel insurers include ACE, Aviva and Groupama. Managing director Mike Smith revealed the plans for a new one-stop insurance solution in an exclusive interview with Insurance Times this week.
Ink acquired broker network Westinsure in August and could be looking to make more acquisitions, Smith said. The company could also return with a new offering in the solicitors’ professional indemnity insurance market, following the launch of its scheme last month with specialist broker St Giles.
Smith has also appointed former Quinn Insurance UK area sales manager Norrie Erwin as development director.
