Independent Insurance's liquidators Pricewaterhousecoopers (PWC) are set to make a decision on the future of the insurer's 2,000 staff and any expected job losses this week.
A PWC spokeswoman said the liquidators' priority this week is to tell Independent's 2,000 employees what was to happen to their jobs.
“People need to know what their situation is,” she said.
At Independent's Cheadle headquarters, it is business as usual, although it has been said that some London staff have already left to join other insurers.
Staff have received wages for the month of June up to the end of the week.
