Willis chief exec enjoys his high profile with clients
Willis UK chief executive Brendan McManus took centre stage at the Insurance Times Leaders’ Forum at the Hilton Tower Bridge, London, last week.
McManus (left), quizzed by former AXA Insurance chief executive Peter Hubbard for the keynote Insurance Times interview, ruled out buying brokers, claiming the global firm would prefer to develop its network instead.
McManus, former managing director of RSA’s broker division, said he had purposely kept out of the limelight since moving to Willis two years ago, and did not miss the role that gave him one of the biggest profiles in the industry.
“My job is to get out and win clients. I’d like to think my profile with clients is getting higher all the time.”
He appeared to commit his future to Willis when he said he was “thinking about my next three years”, focusing on organic growth.
