Broker body launches scheme with QuestGates
Loss adjuster QuestGates has been appointed by the Institute of Insurance Broker (IIB) to supply valuation services to its membership.
The IIB Valuation Scheme provided by QuestGates will extend beyond a singular buildings valuation service to include plant, machinery and contents, fine art and antiques, and engineering and technology.
The scheme will also include the business interruption survey service introduced by QuestGates earlier this year.
IIB chief executive, Barbara Bradshaw, said: “While securing competitive pricing for our members was clearly an important factor in our decision, we were particularly impressed with the wide range of valuation services that QuestGates provides. In addition, all valuations will be conducted by experts in their respective fields with both practical and current experience of managing sizeable claims – essential in our view to ensuring accurate valuations. We are confident that the IIB Valuation Scheme will provide a valuable new service for our members.”
Alistair Steward, the director at QuestGates heading up the valuations division, said: “We are delighted to have been appointed by the IIB and look forward to supporting the organisation and its members. In the current economic climate it is more important than ever for brokers to ensure that their clients have the right level of cover.
"While under-insurance is a well-known problem, it is just as important to establish whether over-insurance exists as this could result in a client paying too high a premium for the risk insured. IIB members can be confident that in utilising the IIB Valuation Scheme, their clients will access a team whose expertise is exclusively focused on valuations for insurance reinstatement purposes and who possess a proven track record of delivering high quality broker support services.”
