AmTrust to make a play into the UK market
IGI Insurance has announced that it will change its name to AmTrust Europe Limited.
IGI Insurance received a major investment from multinational property and casualty insurer AmTrust International Insurance Limited in a deal which gave the insurer 100% financial ownership of IGI back in 2007.
IGI’s parent company, AmTrust International is continuing to further develop its presence and underwriting capacity in the UK and European market.
Part of this strategy is to unify and consolidate its Eurocentric business under one operation, to be called AmTrust Europe Limited.
This will include IGI Insurance as well as its UK-based legal expenses provider IGI Legal Assist, which will now be referred to as AmTrust Europe Legal.
Keith Wardell, managing director of IGI Insurance, said: “This is an exciting new stage for IGI. We’ve gone from strength- to-strength over the past 12 months and feel that this name change will build on this success. We’re keen to continue our expansion into Europe and continue with our delivery of excellent client service.
“The change of name is about growth and progression. We have an exciting future ahead of us and this development is hugely positive. Our priority is to continue to deliver profitable and cost-effective insurance products backed up by a reliable and quality service.”
