Howden Broking Group has opened a new wholesale and retail operation on Bermuda.

The new operation, based in Bermuda's capital Hamilton, is run by Kari Minugh.

Minugh has over 10 years’ Bermudan wholesale and retail broking experience, having worked for a number of brokers in the market including Marsh, HSBC Insurance Management and Freisenbruch-Meyer Insurance Services.

“Bermuda is an important international market, particularly for our wholesale clients in North America, and having local expertise allows us to further strengthen the solutions we are able to create for them," said Howden chief executive Tim Coles in a statement.

Howden is part of global insurance and reinsurance broking group Hyperion.
