Emergency service business hit by reduced volumes from impacted trades
Homeserve has said that its ermergency services business was hit by a rise in cash settlements following the summer floods.
In a statement the company said that while it continued to focus on restoration work, its "additional workload continues to be offset by reduced volumes in other trades partly impacted by higher cash settlement volumes".
The company added that despite the difficulties, the outlook for the business remained strong.
It said: "Our policy membership business is currently in its key period for marketing activity. Recently launched new utility products are performing well and, as previously indicated, we expect gross new policy sales at least to match the level achieved last year. The integration of our warranties and Homeserve GB businesses is progressing smoothly.
