Fitch Ratings has updated its Quantitative Insurer Financial Strength ratings for 45 British and Italian insurers.
The ratings agency has upgraded three UK insurers — Hiscox, IGI and Solicitors Indemnity Mutual Insurance Association.
Hiscox' rating was upgraded from BBBq to Aq.
Royal Liver Assurance was the only British insurer to receive a downgrade, while Budget, Highway, Liverpool Victoria and Equine & Livestock's ratings were unchanged.
Fitch indicated that the high proportion of affirmed ratings reflects a stable credit environment.
