Hiscox said the results of a pilot to improve its household claims handling, run in conjunction with Guild Claims Service, had been positive, leading to a long-term agreement between the two companies.

Guild Claims Service, a Bath-based jewellery specialist firm, has partnered Hiscox to validate and replace lost or damaged items. The long-term deal will provide validation and replacement services to Hiscox high and mid net-worth books.

Hiscox said it had traditionally operated on a cash settlement basis, but had been looking for a replacement network that could offer choice to clients.

“Guild attracted us as it has the comprehensive systems and strategic partners in place to deliver the quality of service that drives our business,” said Hiscox claims manager Angus Watson.

“We have made significant savings on settlements and taken our customer service to a new level.”
