Edinburgh-based firm first in Scotland to partner with high net worth insurer
Bruce Stevenson has become the first Scottish broker to be awarded delegated authority by Hiscox.
The high net worth specialist has authorised Bruce Stevenson, which claims it is the largest independent insurance broker in Edinburgh and the second largest in Scotland, to underwrite on its behalf.
Mark Richards, private clients director for Bruce Stevenson (pictured right) said: “It is an extremely positive development for Bruce Stevenson to be awarded delegated authority from Hiscox. This award reinforces our strength as Scotland’s leading independent high net worth private client insurance broker.
“Our customers are paramount to our business and this partnership will deliver real benefits in terms of tailored and enhanced cover for our existing and potential clients.”
Justin Gott, head of art and private client at Hiscox UK, (pictured left) said: “We have worked with Bruce Stevenson for a number of years and been impressed by both their expertise and their excellence in execution – values that we also aspire to. Awarding them delegated authority status was an easy decision and a natural next-step for us.”
Bruce Stevenson, which opened in 1981, has offices in Edinburgh, Glasgow, London and Aberdeen as well as a new Borders base in Galashiels. The broker recently told Insurance Times that it is targeting a gross written premium of £25m per annum.
The firm is also a founding member of the dozen-strong UNA Alliance.
