South West broker Higos Insurance Services has acquired Vaughan Insurance Brokers in the Somerset market town of Crewkerne.
Vaughan has been operating for more than 30 years in the area.
Its current owner Sue Prince is retiring with Higos taking on the remaining two employees.
The Crewkerne team has moved into new premises in the town and now trades as Vaughan Insurance Services.
Higos founder and managing director Ian Gosden said: “It has been central to our expansion to take on locally recognised and respected businesses, extending our reach into communities in our South West heartland.
“We are delighted with the addition of Vaughan Insurance Brokers and look forward to integrating their business into our model of modern broking which combines the efficiencies of technology and the latest business practices with a local, personal service.”
Natalie Chantry will remain the branch manager of the new office and continues to be supported by Mandy Garrett, with the addition of Karla Genge, who has worked for Higos for three years.
Higos now employs 200 people across 17 offices in the South West.
