Product launched for SSP brokers
Highway has re-entered the hire & reward market this month with the launch of a product for SSP brokers.
The insurer said the launch follows the appointment of Nick Watkinson as hire & reward underwriting manager in January and in-depth research into the changing needs of this specialist market.
Encompassing hackney carriage, private and executive hire vehicles and minibuses, Highway says the product will offer claims guarantees, an excess waiver facility, a customer loyalty program and replacement plated vehicle.
Highway Insurance managing director, Chris Hill said: “Since Nick joined us in January he has worked closely with our brokers to develop a truly innovative and market leading product for the hire & reward market. The result is something we are very pleased with and we know our brokers will benefit greatly from having this facility as part of their portfolio.”
Watkinson said: “The key to developing an innovative product is to have a real understanding of the needs of the market. The overriding concern of cab drivers is being off the road for any length of time and this is why we have focused heavily on our claims service.
"It is one thing just saying we have great service, but quite another to actually back this up with cast iron guarantees and this is what we have done where no one else has. I know from discussions with brokers that this support, along with the excess waiver facility, will be extremely well received by the market.”
