High street general insurance provider Hill House Hammond (HHH) has acquired a further four high street insurance brokers as part of its stated expansion strategy.
HHH head of communications Alexandra Lovesey said: "In 2001 HHH acquired over 20 insurance brokers and we intend to expand on that figure significantly this year."
In Bristol, the home of HHH's headquarters, the group acquired over 3000 personal lines and commercial policies, and three members of staff, through the takeover of G Whitfield Insurance Services, following the owner's retirement.
In Worcester, HHH acquired EG Reece & Co after the owner retired. All the personal lines policies will be serviced from HHH's local branch in Worcester, while the commercial book will be based at HHH Business's Commercial Centre in Kidderminster.
In Oldbury, HHH acquired Tividale Insurance Services and over 400 personal lines policies, which will now be serviced from HHH's Dudley branch.
Meanwhile, HHH's Norwich branch has acquired over 3000 policies in Avondale Fitzgerald's personal lines portfolio, as well as two members of staff. Fitzgerald & Co plans to continue operating the commercial insurance arm of its business.
The latest acquisitions follow those of Taunton-based Lloyd and Whyte and Sheffield-based Derek Eastwood Insurance Brokers earlier in January.
