Willis takes over the tallest building in the US
America’s tallest building, the 110-storey Sears Tower, is to be renamed the Willis Tower. The global broking giant is moving about 500 staff into the building. Joe Plumeri, chairman and chief executive of Willis, said: “Having our name associated with Chicago’s most iconic structure underscores our commitment to this great city and recognises Chicago’s importance as a major financial hub and international business centre.” The broker is bringing together three Chicago-based Willis HRH offices, as well as Willis Commercial and Willis’s Innotech business, in the tower. The move, which the company said would result in significant savings, is expected to be completed by late summer.
