London-listed insurer Hardy Underwriting has appointed Peter Hardy, the current chief executive officer, as non-executive chairman.
He will succeed Nigel Ellis, who will remain on the company's board as a non-executive director.
Barbara Merry will fill Hardy's position as chief executive officer, subject to FSA and Lloyd's approval. Merry was previously the managing director of Omega Underwriting Agents.
The appointments are expected to take effect in the new year.
