Half of UK insurers regularly survey their customers in an effort to understand customer preferences, research from data specialists CDMS has found.
Research across the financial services industry found that 51% of insurance companies regularly consulted their customers.
CDMS sales director Ian Hubbard expressed surprise at the results of the research.
“As a highly intermediated industry, it is remarkable that more insurance organisations are not using customer surveys both to improve the relevance of customer communications and to select, support and develop the channels.
“Customer survey data is a valuable asset that has the potential to increase long-term customer profitability, shape strategic business development and open up new routes to market," said Hubbard.
