Plum Underwriting has announced a new hire, as Simon Lewer joins GRP
Peter Cullum-backed consolidator GRP has revealed that its underwriting division is now a £100m GWP business, as it hires a new business development director from its MGA Plum Underwriting.
Simon Lewer will commence working for GRP immediately, where he will report to chief executive of underwriting, Clive Nathan in the role of business development director for underwriting.
Prior to the move, he was working in a business development role at Plum. He has also worked for Pen and was previously at Towergate.
Lewer said: “I know Clive well and am very much looking forward to working with him to help take the underwriting division forward, in particular making sure that brokers take full advantage of our portfolio of products and services.”
Clive Nathan said: “Simon is my first senior appointment since joining GRP and I am delighted he has chosen to take on this new challenge. The underwriting division has grown rapidly to become a £100m GWP business, and we are now well-placed to continue with this trajectory, building on the strength of our highly regarded specialist portfolio.”
In addition, Plum has appointed Heidi Saxty in the role of head of schemes underwriting.
Saxty joins from Midas Underwriting and worked for Prestige prior to this.
Clive Nathan said: “Heidi brings Plum enormous non-standard technical underwriting expertise and strong broker relationship development experience. She will play an important role in helping us maintain our position as a market-leading MGA as we expand our niche and flexible underwriting footprint through our range of products to brokers via our multiple distribution channels.”
