Groupama appoints four to senior claims management team
Groupama has appointed a new four-strong senior claims management team.
The appointments follow Groupama's decision to close its Borehamwood claims office and move its commercial and personal claims operations to its new claims centre in Port Solent, Portsmouth.
Karl Parr has been appointed head of large and complex loss. He has been with Groupama for over 10 years and moves into the role from a senior role within the commercial claims division.
Steve Caffrey, who previously headed up claims planning, has been appointed head of technical claims. Groupama’s counter fraud team will also come under his remit.
Darren Wills, a claims professional who has been with Groupama for three years, has been appointed head of claims development.
Daryn Hughes has become head of operations and is responsible for managing the Portsmouth claims centre. Hughes moves from his previous role as centre manager at the insurer's Borehamwood office.
Claims director Phil Bird said: “This team has the knowledge, experience and clear lines of responsibility to support our vision of creating a robust and highly professional claims operation able to handle any size of claim. This is all about making our claims function efficient, adaptable and future proof.”
Bird added: “Karl, Steve, Darren and Daryn have the proven skills and commitment to really drive forward our restructured claims division and it’s very gratifying to know that they are all home grown talent.
“By centralising our operations to one site we are creating a really slick and sustainable claims function in a way we could not have been achieved with separate commercial and personal lines claims centres.
"We have now completed the move of our commercial claims handling to Portsmouth and are pleased to have found roles for almost 50% of the people previously employed in Borehamwood."
