Laurence King, Colin Hawes and Charles Lennox have joined Fusion. Hawes and King have been appointed as UK claims manager and UK risk control manager respectively. Lennox will support the director of underwriting and claims. All three were previously with Independent.

Neil Clayton has been appointed development manager at Independent with responsibility for the regional offices of Aberdeen, Leeds, Glasgow and Newcastle. He joins from St Paul.

Nigel Davies has joined BIAS Insurance and Administration Services as director of new business. BIAS is a subsidiary of Bland Bankart, and provides third-party administration services to insurers and major manufacturers. Davies brings with him more than 20 years' experience in the insurance industry.

SVB Underwriting Services, the new service company of SVB Syndicates at Lloyd's has appointed Anita Hawkes as its marketing and communications manager. Hawkes joined SVB in January 2000 to assist in the development of its internet insurance provider, Fusion. She was previously employed by QBE.
