Amlin
Amlin Underwriting has appointed Miles Taffs as an underwriter in its aviation division.

Taffs began his career in the aviation market with Willis Faber in 1986, moving over to the underwriting side in 1988 as an assistant underwriter with GAN Minster (later Westminster Aviation Insurance Group).

In 1992 he was appointed deputy underwriter and in 1996 he was promoted to underwriter and manager for the airline underwriting team, gaining wide experience of handling major international risks.

Towergate Underwriting
Troy Martin has joined Towergate Underwriting Group as managing director of MIA General Insurance, the group's specialist arm for medical professionals. Previously, he was at Royal & SunAlliance, where he worked for 18 years in a number of senior roles.

Miles Bourne joins from Ernst & Young to become the group's new internal auditor.

THB Group has appointed Jane Joslin as group internal audit manager.

She joins after 14 years with Sterling Hamilton Wright where she was director of agency management and marketing.

Profind
Profind Insurance Services has appointed John Gray as an office/claims manager to its Sussex office. He joins from Elite Incident Management where he was the technical claims controller, bringing 12 years' insurance experience to the company.

Alexander Forbes
Alexander Forbes Risk Services UK has restructured its Scottish executive team appointing Robert McEwan as new leader of the Scottish team. McEwan takes over as regional director responsible for all business handled via the Glasgow, Edinburgh and Aberdeen operations, in addition to which he will lead new business development.

The other key members of the restructured Scottish team are:

Paul McGhee, formerly regional director, is promoted to director of strategic projects.

Frances Barron will lead the client servicing team and focus on insurance due diligence for major banks and other capital providers.

Linda Tarbet will take over day-to-day responsibility for the Glasgow office.

GAB Robins
GAB Robins Group of Companies has hired Nick Green as a vice president of GAB Robins North America.

Green brings 25 years of experience gained at a major independent loss adjusting firm to GAB Robins.

He was previously employed by several insurance companies in the UK and most recently led a team of dedicated adjusters for programme and MGA books of business while working for a prominent regional firm in the US.

Law firm Keoghs has appointed three new solicitors to its specialist claims unit (SCU).

Ruth Gavin joins from Mintons. Laura O'Connor joins from Beachcroft Wansbroughs and Hesham Sabry joins from Farleys.

The Risk Safety Net
The Risk Safety Net has appointed two new associate members, Bill Budner and Phil Markham.

Until recently, Bill Budner was insurance and risk manager for Philips Electronics UK & Philips Electronics Ireland and was responsible for risk management and a wide range of industrial and commercial activities.

Phil Markham is a member of the IOSH Corporate Strategy Committee and is on the NEBOSH Diploma part 1 examiners panel. His safety, health and environment experience was acquired over 25 years as a health and safety adviser at BP Chemicals and Napp Pharmaceutical Group and latterly as a health, safety and environment manager for Acordis UK (formerly Courtaulds Fibres).

ISS Ark & General
Skipton-based disaster recovery and BCM specialist ISS Ark & General has promoted Mark Bryson to the position of branch supervisor.

Bryson joined the UK and Ireland wide company last April and has a background in property restoration and mechanical engineering.

ServiceMaster
John Foad has been promoted to managing director at ServiceMaster.

Before joining head office in Leicester, Foad and his wife Julia owned a ServiceMaster clean residential and disaster restoration business together with a Merry Maids business.

He has worked at the company for the past two years, firstly as marketing director and more recently as general manager.

New to the customer-focused team, are corporate relationship managers, Caroline Wraith and Mark Hayman.

Datamonitor
Business information company Datamonitor has appointed Martin Reynolds as head of financial services consulting.

He joins from Accenture where he was a senior manager in the financial services strategy practice.

Rainbow
Rainbow International has recruited two managers to expand the national accounts team based at its corporate headquarters in Nottinghamshire.

Doug Astle joins as national account manager - South. David Jamieson will undertake the same role in the North of the UK.

Autoglass
Autoglass has appointed a new manager for its Bath branch.

Neil Godden, who began his career at Autoglass as a fitting technician ten years ago, moves to the position after being technical supervisor.
