Specialist van insurer Gladiator Commercial has boosted its offering with the introduction of hire vehicle cover as an optional extra.

The option will be available for policyholders with third party fire and theft cover, and policyholders with comprehensive cover.

Policyholders with third party fire and theft cover will be entitled to up to 14 days of continuous van hire. Drivers with comprehensive cover receive up to 21 days of continuous van hire if the van is deemed a total loss from either theft or as a result of a road traffic accident.

The hire vehicle cover would have an annual premium of £29, said Gladiator Commercial.

Each type of cover can be used for a maximum of two claims during the policy term. In each case customers will be given a replacement vehicle equivalent to their own.

Gladiator Commercial managing director Chris Price said: “We realise that for most of our customers, their van is their livelihood.

“By providing a hire vehicle cover scheme, we can keep our customers on the road and make life easier for them at a naturally stressful time.”

Gladiator Commercial is part of Admiral Insurance Services.
