Glasgow-based broker Giles Insurance has acquired two Yorkshire brokers.
Richmond Insurance Brokers and Calvert Glover are both based in Bradford and control a combined £5m in premium income, taking Giles' total premium income to £110m.
Chris Giles, chief executive of Giles, commented: “Our strategy is to continue to build our regional network and to take a leading role in the consolidation of the fragmented commercial insurance market.”
The company is aiming for £250m in premium income within two years.
David Helliwell has left HSBC to manage the integration of the two brokers into the Giles network.
The principles of the two brokers — Trevor Richmond and Tony Calvert — will remain with Giles under the new arrangements.
