Insurance Times  is tracking the industry’s gender pay gap numbers as they are published. Check back here for updates.

All companies and organisations with over 250 employees are required by the government to publish data on the pay gap between men and women in their companies.

Businesses must submit the mean and median gender pay gap, as well as the mean and median pay gap for bonuses, showing the differences between the hourly wages of male and female employees. They are also required to show how the pay gap is spread across quartiles, which shows how pay is spread across the organisation.

Some employers are reporting early. The CII published its numbers in November 2017, despite having less than 250 employees.

According to the Office for National Statistics (ONS) the overall UK gender pay gap is 18%, decreasing from 27.5% 10 years ago. However, the insurance sector is reported to have a gap of 47%.

Insurance Times is tracking the gender pay gap results as they are published.

41 insurers and 38 brokers have currently published their data on the gender pay gap. As more reveal their results, the tracker will be updated. Scroll down to see how individual insurers and brokers did and for industry comments.
