Sandy Fraser appointed as UK network director.
GAB Robins had announced launch of BRICS (Building Repair Insurance Claims Service), a dedicated UK-wide building repair network.
The new network will be used by GAB Robins’ loss adjusters, building technicians, engineers and surveyors, across its range of service lines. It is available for claims in areas such as subsidence, property claims, large loss adjuster/surveying reinstatement work, as well as for small direct repairs.
“We are delighted to launch BRICS in direct response to our clients’ needs in this sector of the claims market,” said Kieran Rigby, chief executive officer for GAB Robins UK. “The key benefits include the tight controls governing initial claim validation and scopes of work and building repair rates that are supported by custom built, workflow driven technologies.
"Add to this a working environment that engages all stakeholders in truly integrated processes, and the result is a building repair service delivers on service and produces market-leading cost-savings across both operational expenses and indemnity spend.”
The solution is available both as a standalone service and as part of an integrated claims management programme. Much of the innovation is around process aimed at driving down claims spend through close control of scope and price, coupled with strong contractor management.
BRICS uses a dedicated workflow structure including automated instructions to contractors, electronic document transfers, pricing, validation and claims tracking for clients. The overall workflow process uses GAB Robins’ new information technology platform, OperaFLO.
BRICS operates within GAB Robins’ Building Services division headed by Nigel Barham. Associated with this service are two new key appointments:
Sandy Fraser has been appointed as UK network director. He joins from Halifax Bank of Scotland, (HBOS), where he was partner manager (Building Services). Prior to this, Fraser was network director for Property Solutions Ltd. He comes from a loss adjusting background and, early on in his career, worked for GAB Robins in Scotland.
Justin Scargill joins as a contractor manager with responsibility for operational matters and managing service delivery of supplier partners in BRICS. He was previously with Cunningham Lindsey where he was a divisional manager within their repair network, and earlier in his career also worked for GAB Robins.
