On 28 April 2007, an earthquake, measuring 4.3 on the Richter scale struck Folkestone in Kent.
GAB Robins said that it received a number of emergency instructions over the weekend from insurers.
According to GAB a large number of chimney stacks partially collapsed damaging roof coverings and cars parked in the street below as rubble slid down the pitched roofs. Internally, most damage was confined to very minor cracking - usually at the junction of the ceiling and walls on the first floor.
GAB said they were also appointed to inspect damage at a number of schools.
Damage has also been reported over a wider area outside Folkestone and GAB Robins received emergency instructions from a number of clients as far out as the M20. It is expected that new claims will be reported to insurers for properties in the Folkestone and the surrounding area, over the next few days.
