Fusion Insurance has developed a new online discount safety products shop for its policyholders and brokers in conjunction with Safety Media.
The shop offers health and safety videos, DVDs, software, posters and booklets.
The shop ties in with Fusion's campaign to educate the employees of its policyholders about health and safety issues in order to reduce injuries and claims.
According to the Health and Safety Executive, over 30,000 major injuries to employees were reported in 2003-2004, up 9% on the previous year. Slipping and tripping accounted for 37% of major injuries, while handling, lifting or carrying accounted for 14%, being stuck by a moving or falling object 13% and falling from a height 13%.
Kevin Pallett, managing director of Fusion Insurance said: "It is vital that employers have easy access to low cost safety education materials to enable them to keep all employees up to date with health and safety issues and best practice."
