Four-year partnership signed
Fortis has announced it is to continue underwriting Alliance & Leicester’s travel account after winning a renewal tender, which sees the partnership remain in place for the next four years.
Fortis has held Alliance & Leicester’s travel account since 2005. The new contract will see Alliance & Leicester, one of the UK's major financial services groups, develop its travel offering even further and also look to grow the book significantly.
Fortis will use its innovative new Text2Insure system as the platform for this proposition, which will be web based and also support processing via SMS and WAP. Additionally it is looking at other technologies such as voice recognition software, allowing spoken words to be transferred straight to a computer monitor.
Barry Smith, Fortis Chief Executive, said: “Fortis has enjoyed a strong and productive relationship with Alliance & Leicester over the last few years and I am delighted this will continue. The renewal supports the success of our strategy to continue to tailor our proposition to our client’s needs utilising the company’s broad range of combined capabilities. We are looking forward to a continued productive relationship with Alliance & Leicester.”
Steve Burton, Senior Marketing Manager at Alliance & Leicester, commented: “The renewal of our contract with Fortis was down to the strength of its service proposition. Not only do they have a solid product, but also their claims customer service is unrivalled in the industry. The use of the innovative Text2Insure platform will help to grow the proposition still further by offering greater choice to our customers in terms of how they want to purchase their insurance.”
