Met office issues yellow rain warning for south-west England

The severe flooding gripping the UK will continue as more rain is forecast.

The Met Office has issued a yellow warning for rain in south-west England.

The BBC reported that up to 20mm (0.8 inches) of rain is forecasr for the south-west of England today.

While such levels of rain would not normally be troublesome on their own, the ground is already waterlogged from previous heavy rainfall.

However, the BBC also said that the situation in the worst-hit areas along the River Thames is expected to improve this week.

There are 16 severe flood warnings currently in force in southern England.

The Environment Agency also has more than 300 less severe flood warnings in place across England and Wales.

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.
