CBG revenue up 49.9%
CBG Group, a Manchester broker, has reported a 49.9% increase in revenue to £11.15m for 2008, up from £7.44m in 2007. Its pre-tax profit rose 17.5% to £2.15m in 2008, from £1.91m in 2007 . CBG acquired Barclay Brown and EDN last year.
Two join LitComp division
LitComp, an after-the-event insurance provider, has made two appointments at its subsidiary Elite Business Development. Charles Wright will join the business as divisional managing director and Martin Davey will join as an underwriter. Both appointments take effect from 30 March.
Swiss Re plan backed
Shareholders at Swiss Re’s annual general meeting last Friday have approved all proposals put forward by the board, including the creation of conditional capital to secure underlying shares for the convertible perpetual instrument to be issued to Warren Buffett’s Berkshire Hathaway. Jakob Baer and John R Coomber were also re-elected to the board for three years.
