New research from Everest shows that ten million British homeowners with home contents insurance do not have burglar alarms.

The company said that installation of an alarm reduced a home contents premium by as much as 7.5% and also dramatically reduced the risk of burglary.

Last year only 22% of burglaries involved properties with alarms.

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.
