Eugene Wessels, head of global operations at software firm Genasys, reveals why he believes the company should win the Business Partner of the Year - Technology Supplier category at the 2022 Insurance Times Awards

Explain briefly about your entry in the Business Partner of the Year - Technology Supplier category.

Genasys is an insurance administration platform and we partnered with MGA Arma Karma to help launch its revolutionary insurance proposition.

This was an exciting opportunity to work with a partner focused on addressing the needs of ethically savvy, next generation consumers.

A platform capable of managing Netflix-like subscription payments, with capacity to easily plug into other service providers as the business evolves, was needed. Incorporating a way for customers to donate to charity through their policy purchase represented a further challenge for the system build.

The subscription model demanded a rethink by our experts, but the foundation platform was delivered in under a week.

Incremental changes were delivered in days - all on time and on budget - to create a digital purchasing experience that resonates with young customers. Our platform ticked all the boxes to deliver demanding key performance indicators.

What do you think makes your entry stand out or different from your competition?

We’re so much more than a tech provider. There was a strong affinity with Arma Karma from day one as we focused on delivering real change to benefit an underserved sector of the market.

What would winning this award mean to you and your firm?

This project reflects that our partnerships go beyond tech. Winning this award would highlight how we partner with people and their visions to improve how insurance is done for everyone.
