Paul Greenwood, Davies Group’s director of client operations, tells Insurance Times why he believes his firm should win the Excellence in Technology - Property Claims category at the 2022 Insurance Times Awards
Explain briefly about your entry into the Excellence in Technology - Property Claims category.
This category felt best suited to recognise the successful implementation of Davies’ claims automation software for our insurer clients during extreme weather conditions earlier this year.
We saw a 700% rise in claims volumes during the succession of storms that hit the UK in early 2022.
By automating simple processes, such as appointment scheduling and customer payments, we were able to settle claims quickly, while also creating additional capacity for our claims teams to proactively engage with customers and better support them through the claims process.
What do you think makes your entry stand out or different from your competition?
Over 65% of the storm claims Davies Group received between November 2021 and February 2022 were processed through automation software.
Through correct application and accurate scheduling, we saved our insurer clients £12.6m in claims spend and made reasonable adjustments to over 700 claims, to support vulnerable customers.
Claim lifecycles were reduced from an average 15.7 days to 9.1 days due to the automated closure of claims settled on-site.
What would winning this award mean to you and your firm?
Winning this award would not only give the teams involved well deserved recognition for managing the storm surge successfully, but it would also reinforce the importance of utilising technology to streamline the claims process and deliver better customer service and outcomes.
