Mark Stirrup, managing director of Corporé, tells Insurance Times why he believes his firm should win the Claims Partner of the Year category at the 2022 Insurance Times Awards
Explain briefly about your entry in the Claims Partner of the Year category.
Following the shocking, unprecedented events of the Grenfell Tower fire in June 2017, Corporé was contracted by insurer Protector to tailor our effective major incident rehabilitation service (MIRS) to support and help the survivors of this tragedy.
Our formidable team navigated an incredibly challenging environment, with survivors rightfully mistrusting of authority organisations.
This meant that our approach needed to support those facing severe psychological issues and physical injuries, as well as complex grief, emotional turmoil, housing, education and work issues and displacement, to help them rebuild their lives.
What do you think makes your entry stand out or different from your competition?
A completely bespoke, accessible for all, ‘Survivor First’ rehabilitation solution was developed on a large scale, overcoming clinical and non-clinical barriers to help achieve the best possible outcomes for the Grenfell Tower fire survivors.
Even five years on from the devastating fire, we continue to support survivors, balancing therapeutic integrity with a personalised approach, to help them overcome the physical, emotional and life-changing effects of the horrific event.
What would winning this award mean to you and your firm?
To win this award wouldn’t just be a momentous achievement for our team, acknowledging the necessary challenges faced to help support the courageous individuals of the tragedy, but would establish a significant accomplishment for all the survivors, demonstrating to them the colossal barriers they have overcome to rebuild their entire lives.
