Endurance Speciality Holdings has reported third quarter results, with net income of US$56.5m, an increase from $28.9m for the same period in 2002.

Operating income was $55.2m, a 112% increase on the third quarter results for 2002.

For the nine months ending 30 September 2003, net income was $174.5m. Operating income for the same period was $161.4m.

Gross written premiums for the third quarter were $325m, a 42% increase from the $228.3m made in the third quarter of 2002.

The combined ratio for the third quarter was 88.5%.
