Lloyd's broker Ellis Clowes & Company has hired Nigel Hayden to strengthen its commercial motorsport division.
Hayden was previously part of rival broker Lockton's motorsport team.
“Having managed the account for the governing body of UK motorsport, the Motor Sport Association (MSA), for many years, [Hayden] arrives with a vast amount of experience in all product lines for all aspects and levels of the motor sport industry," said Ellis Clowes managing director Karen Ellis in a statement. "He has specialised in looking after governing bodies and their members and brings considerable hands-on experience in the areas of judicial and safety. It is a great coup for Ellis Clowes to have secured his services.”
Hayden has spent most of his career working in motorsport governance, and has sat on judicial and safety advisory panels for the MSA. He has also sat on insurance sub committees for the ACU and their medical panel.
“I have known Karen [Ellis] and Tom [Ellis] for many years, and other members of the management team, and know they have the drive and the knowledge base to continue to build on their ambitions to lead this market sector across the globe." Hayden said. "I believe that with our combined expertise, we now have the capability of representing every area of the motor sport spectrum with extensive knowledge and creativity. I am really looking forward to the challenge.”
