Aon is outsourcing its IT infrastructure in the UK to EDS in a move it believes will improve the efficiency of its business and enhance service to clients.
It follows a review of Aon's IT, including WAN/LAN technology, messaging, mainframe and mid-range platforms, servers and desktops, together with all related support functions, service/help desk and all voice services.
"We have conducted an extensive evaluation to ensure that we selected the right partner to help take Aon's business forward in the most effective way," said Dennis Mahoney, chairman of Aon in the UK. "EDS most closely matched our business needs."
Under the contract more than 250 Aon IT staff will transfer to EDS. There will be no redundancies under the Transfer of Undertakings (Protection of Employment) Agreement.
Hosted by comedian and actor Tom Allen, 34 Gold, 23 Silver and 22 Bronze awards were handed out across an amazing 34 categories recognising brilliance and innovation right across the breadth of UK general insurance.
