Ecclesiastical looks to Marsh for new broker head

Ecclesiastical has hired former Marsh broker Adrian Saunders as corporate business and regional director – London.

The newly created dual role combines the previously separate jobs of corporate business director and regional director for London and the south east.

Ecclesiastical decided to combine the roles after a review of its intermediated general insurance business.

Saunders will lead the specialist insurer’s national broker management and schemes teams based in Gloucester.

He will also head the regional team covering London and the south east.

Saunders reports to Ecclesiastical UK commercial director Kevin Simmons.

Saunders joins Ecclesiastical after a five-year stint at broking group Marsh. In that time he held the roles of UK head of private client and UK head of affinity solutions.

Ecclesiastical deputy group chief executive and UK managing director Jacinta Whyte said: “I am confident Adrian will manage the teams across the two locations extremely well and will bring fresh ideas and energy into the business to the benefit of the company as well as all of our customers and business partners.”
