Ecclesiastical creates new role as broker business develops

Ecclesiastical has promoted its real estate development manager Chris Withers to the newly-created role head of broker distribution.

Withers joined the specialist churches and charities insurer in 2015 after seven years at Covéa Insurance. He worked at RSA for 17 years before that.

Ecclesiastical said it had created the broker distribution head role as a result of the continuing drive to develop its brokered business.

Withers will continue to manage the regional development of Ecclesiastical’s real estate business.

The insurer’s commercial director Adrian Saunders said: “We are at an exciting stage in the development of our intermediary business.

“We have been working extremely hard over the last few years to build an even better understanding of our broker and distribution partners’ needs, and making sure that we tailor our delivery across a wide range of areas from niche proposition to underwriter access through to marketing support.

“I am pleased that Chris has accepted the challenge of ensuring our enhanced offering to brokers is consistent across both our Ecclesiastical and Ansvar brands and I’m confident he will build on the exciting plans we have in place for working even more closely with all our broker partners.”
