Insurer also announced the launch of a professional indemnity cover for Direct Line for Business
Direct Line Group has introduced two new products in its half year 2015 results, announcing a cyber product for NIG and a professional indemnity product for its Direct Line for Business am.
The insurer, which also revealed a profit increase of 49%, announced plans for both products in the accompanying notes to its results.
Introducing the cyber product, the insurer said: “With its focus on providing insurance to small and medium-sized enterprises, the group is planning to launch a cyber product to its regional broker channel.”
This would mark the company’s first foray in to the cyber market, which is gaining increasing popularity as the risk landscape increases and data breaches become more common.
The group also announced it would release a professional indemnity product for its Direct Line for Business arm.
Direct Line Group had no further information on the announcements at this time, and gave no details as to when they might be rolled out.
