Move to alleviate £13.4bn annual loss to economy.
Crawford & Company has launched a new Healthcare Network for employees and employers.
The Atlanta-based claims handling provider has unveiled a range of integrated healthcare and wellbeing services, focusing on support for managing workplace absence through illness, accident or injury.
The company has teamed up with industry-leading organisations including Nuffield Proactive, Health Sure UK, IPRS and Aeromed 365 to offer these services.
In a statement Carwford said the network allowed a flexible approach with bespoke service elements suited to individual needs, including access to 300 qualified doctors and other specialists and a nationwide nursing network.
The seminar covered critical healthcare issues such as occupational health programmes, employee well-being programmes and the reality of proactive healthcare.
Nancy Hempstead, Head of EMEA Healthcare said: “With 40 million working days lost in the UK every year due to sickness and injury, health and well-being services have never been more important.
“UK companies are losing £13.4 billion in direct absence costs each year - a problem also faced by many other countries,” she added.
Mike Reeves, Executive Vice President of Crawford Global Markets said: “We are delighted to launch this new service in conjunction with our market-leading partners. Our existing healthcare services already cover the UK, Western Europe, Asia Pacific, Australia, Canada, the USA and Latin America, and we are committed to expanding them further across multiple geographies and healthcare specialties.”
