Iain MacLean, former UK chief engineer with Crawford and Co Adjusters, has joined Davies Chartered Loss Adjusters (DCLA) to become head of subsidence, managing the business's new subsidence division.
MacLean's role with DCLA will be to build the division by recruiting a team of skilled and experienced subsidence experts to be based in a variety of locations across the UK.
Originally a chartered engineer and contracts manager, MacLean has spent 14 years working in the UK's loss adjusting industry beginning with Ellis and Buckle (now Cunningham Lindsey) in the South West.
In 1998 he joined Ashworth Mairs as a regional project manager followed by the move to Crawford and Co in 1999 where he was UK chief engineer for seven years.
David Ede, a senior partner at DCLA, said: “Iain's track record and achievements speak for themselves. He's the ideal candidate to build this major new part of our business and we're thrilled to have him with us.
“Our aim is to create a subsidence division founded on the principles that Davies has built its reputation on – high quality customer service, strong relationships and genuine expertise.”
MacLean commented: “Davies has been brave enough to give me a fairly blank sheet of paper from which to begin building a team of dedicated subsidence professionals which will have a real impact on the market. I'm delighted to have this opportunity and am now actively recruiting like-minded experts who want to provide a true quality service to the insurance industry.”
