Countrywide Assured is to complete the demerger of its life company and complete its FTSE listing on 25 May 2004.

The company will list as Countrywide Plc, while the life company will list separately as Chesnara Plc.

Countrywide Plc arranges mortgages and insurance products through its financial services operation. The business arranged £4.6bn of mortgages in 2003 on behalf of its panel of mortgage lenders. It also has estate agency and conveyancing operations.

Once the listing is completed it will also complete the return of £100.5m of capital to shareholders in the form of a capital repayment plus a final dividend, said the company.

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.
