Catlin's Paul Jardine to fill role left by Ewen Gilmour
Lloyd’s has announced that Catlin's Paul Jardine will become a deputy chairman of The Council of Lloyd’s following Ewen Gilmour’s retirement from the position earlier this month.
Jardine, currently chief operating officer of Catlin Underwriting Agencies, has more than 25 years of insurance industry experience and is a former chairman of the Lloyd’s Market Association. He has served on the Council of Lloyd’s since February 2008.
Paul Jardine said: "I am delighted to serve as deputy chairman of Lloyd's, an institution that has emerged from the economic crisis in a strong position.
"We still face a variety of challenges, including a competitive marketplace and new regulatory regimes, and I look forward to playing a role in reinforcing Lloyd's position as the world's leading insurance market."
Gilmour has been deputy chairman since February 2006 and will remain on the council as a working member.
Lloyd’s chairman Lord Levene said: “I would like to thank Ewen for his hard work and contribution as deputy chairman, and I’m pleased that he will continue to serve on the council. Paul has substantial experience in the industry and I look forward to working with him.”
