Weather Direct has launched a policy to cover equipment hired out for use at events.
U-Hire covers loss of or damage to equipment from the moment it leaves the hire depot until it is returned, including direct transit to and from the event site.
Premiums are based on the annual income from hire and can be paid quarterly or annually.
Weather Direct can usually provide an indication of the premium prior to proposal form completion.
Premium costs can be passed on to customers, with hire companies earning 10% commission from every insurance invoiced.
A deductible of £250 is usually applied to each loss and cover does not apply to theft from unattended vehicles between sunset and sunrise (unless the vehicle is in a locked garage or compound).
