David Grant to head joint Lloyd’s/London market representative group
Insurer CNA Europe’s UK marine manager David Grant has been elected chairman of the Joint Cargo Committee.
He has served as the committee’s deputy chairman for the past two years.
The Joint Cargo Committee consists of representatives of both Lloyd’s and company markets, and is the body that leads the market globally on current issues.
Committee tasks include drafting wordings used by cargo underwriters in markets around the world, reviewing global risk hotspots and emerging risks, and lobbying the government.
As part of his new role, Grant will also chair the cargo forum at the Lloyd’s library once a month, and will represent the UK market at the International Union of Marine Insurance.
CNA Europe’s European cargo director Howard Potter said: “This is a highly prestigious appointment, and is testament to both the respect accorded to David in the marketplace, and CNA’s strong leadership position in the cargo market in London. We wish David every success in his tenure.”
