CNA Europe has launched a transportation and logistics industry team that will operate throughout its European network.
It has been formed to meet the needs of the growing European freight industry, and will be headed by Steve O’Gorman, who will take up the newly-created role of European transportation and logistics director.
CNA Europe already has experience in the sector. The company’s specialist areas include cargo, stock throughput, freight liability, global programmes and sub-sea equipment. Steve O’Gorman was previously head of CNA Europe’s French operations, before which he held senior roles in its head office in London.
Steve O’Gorman said: “The huge growth in the movement of freight in Europe and the technological advancements that come with it have presented us with an ideal opportunity to grow this area of our business. With a network of underwriting offices throughout continental Europe, we have the local knowledge needed to provide clients with cover tailored to their particular markets and jurisdictions.”
In addition, the company has promoted Howard Potter to European cargo director. Previously UK marine manager at CNA Europe, he will be responsible for the growth of the Company’s pan-European cargo offering and other specialist marine covers such as sub-sea equipment.
Chief Executive Officer of CNA Europe, John Hennessy said:“This new specialist team will enable us to devote extra resource and expertise to the transportation and logistics sector, expanding our offering beyond freight forwarder to all parties involved in the movement and storage of goods throughout Europe.
“I am also pleased to announce the promotion of Howard Potter to European cargo director. His work as UK marine manager has been exceptional and he is ideally placed to work with our European teams to target specialist growth areas.”
