Oxygen head of agency also joins professional body
The CII has appointed AXA chief executive Peter Hubbard and Sian Fisher, Head of Agency Operations at Oxygen Insurance Brokers to its main board.
CII chief executive, Sandy Scott, said that the appointments strengthened the group in its pursuit of professionalism and excellence.
He said: "Last year, we were heavily involved in the response to the FSA's Retail Distribution Review, and the appointments of Sian and Peter are a clear sign of our continued determination to create an environment where the public feels more confident in the financial services arena."
Peter Hubbard added: "I am delighted I have been appointed to the CII Board. I am sure 2008 will see us move even more boldly to increasing professionalism across the insurance industry in the UK which is essential to help us maintain our position as one of the three leading insurance markets in the world."
Fisher said: "Our industry needs to do more than just talk about professionalism and ethics if we are to build the trust of our customers and the public at large, from its current low base. As our professional body, the Chartered Insurance Institute can make a fundamental difference to developing and maintaining industry-wide standards, but it needs all our support to achieve these aims."
