Lloyds Development Capital backs Chem-Dry MBO from Evander Group

The Evander Group has sold Chem-Dry UK to Chem-Dry management, backed by Lloyds Development Capital (LDC).

Chem-Dry is one of three businesses alongside Evander Glazing and Locks and Evander Validation Services, bought from HomeServe last September.

Evander said that since it was acquired last September, the franchise network has progressed significantly achieving a stable platform ready for growth.

Going forward, Ken Hills who chairs Ansa / Independent Inspections, another business backed by LDC, will be the chairman of Chem-Dry.

The business will continue to trade as Chem-Dry under the leadership of Andrew Lloyd-Jones.

Jonathan-Simpson-Dent, chief executive of Evander Group, said: “Chem-Dry has been an important part of the Evander Group to date and I am delighted with the progress the team has made in rapidly developing the business whilst delivering consistent customer service most notably during the recent flooding in Cumbria.

"This transaction demonstrates the management’s firm belief and commitment in the Chem-Dry business. Closer alignment through the joint chairmanship with Ansa / Independent Inspections should provide unique opportunities to continue the development of Chem-Dry and I am confident that this move will be beneficial for customers, the franchise network and employees.”

Steve Watkins, chief executive of Ansa Group, added: “This innovative portfolio transfer within LDC provides Ansa Group with an opportunity to further strengthen and add scale to the business.

"We have rapidly grown our validation and restoration services recently and the Chem-Dry model compliments our capabilities and ambitions. The Chem-Dry business will enhance our provision of a multi-peril, full service outsource solution.”
