Legal mind of Guy Beringer joins Catlin board
Catlin has named former Allen & Overy senior partner Guy Beringer as non-executive director and said Nicholas Lyons will chair its audit committee after the retirement in January of Michael Hepher.
Beringer is a non-executive director of Fleming Family & Partners Ltd and London Irish Holdings Limited and a non-executive board member of HM Court Service. He was appointed a Queen's Counsel (honoris causa) in 2006 for his contributions to pro bono and legal services.
Sir Graham Hearne, chairman of Catlin, said: "I am delighted to announce the appointment of Guy Beringer to the Catlin Board. Guy's 30 years of experience at Allen & Overy, including eight years as senior partner, will greatly benefit the group.
Floatation thanks
"I would also especially like to thank Michael Hepher for his service as a non-executive director of Catlin. Michael has made a significant contribution to the group over the past six years, both as a director and as chairman of the Audit Committee.
“Michael helped to guide the Group through its flotation on the London Stock Exchange and its subsequent growth. We are sorry to lose him but understand the demands on his time necessitated by his other commitments. On behalf of the Board, I wish him the very best for the future.
"I also welcome Nicholas Lyons in his new role as chairman of the Audit Committee."
