Council suggests insurance copies be kept in emergency bag

Cardiff council’s emergency planning officer Gavin Macho has issued advice to residents about flooding after demands from councillors on its environmental scrutiny committee, the Guardian reports.

Residents should: “Prepare a bag with essential emergency items, including copies of insurance documents, a torch, a battery radio, first aid, water and emergency contact numbers (floodline 0845 988 1188),” the Guardian says.

During a flood residents should stay indoors and tune in to local news outlets on the radio.
